Aurangabad, Dec 2:

As many as 1149 seats under the Right to Education Act are likely to remain vacant.

The officials from the Education Department cited the reason that parents want admission to particular schools only.

According to details, a total of 25 per cent seats are kept reserved for students of social and economically backward class students in private English schools.

The admission process for the academic year 2020-21 began in March.

There are 5,098 seats in 584 schools of the district. Around 6,942 students were selected for the admissions.

A total of 3,949 students confirmed the admission in three rounds, and the last date of documents verification is December 3. However, 1,149 seats are vacant even after several times extensions.

The officers said that parents insist on admissions in specific schools and because of which seats remain vacant.

Parents Association said that students on reserved seats deprive of admission because of the backing of the education department to school even after exploitation of the situation.
