287th Birth anniversary of Jagatguru Sant Sevalal Maharaj celebrated with enthusiasm

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sant Sevalal Maharaj, a grand vehicle and motorcycle rally was taken out on Sunday. The rally echoed across the city with slogans of “Jai Ho Sevalal Maharaj” and fireworks. Youths dressed in traditional attire participated enthusiastically.

The rally passed through major routes of the city and reached the Cidco area. A large number of members of the Banjara community, including women and several dignitaries, gathered at Vasantrao Naik Chowk. A food donation programme and tribute meeting were held in the morning at the chowk. A blood donation camp was also organised as part of social responsibility initiatives.

Participants in the rally wore white attire and conducted a motorcycle procession. After completing a round across the city, tributes were paid at the statue of Vasantrao Naik in Cidco.

Traditional Banjara cultural dances were performed during the programme, captivating the audience with rhythmic presentations. Overall, the birth anniversary of Sant Sevalal Maharaj was celebrated with enthusiasm, devotion, and various activities conveying a strong social message.

Tribute to Sant Sevalal Maharaj

The 287th birth anniversary of Jagatguru Sant Sevalal Maharaj, the revered deity of the Banjara community, was celebrated in a spirited atmosphere. At 9 am, members of the Banjara community gathered at Sant Sevalal Maharaj Chowk near the High Court and paid their respects, marking the beginning of the programme.

Later, floral tributes were offered to the full-length statue of Vasantrao Naik in Cidco. State minister for OBC welfare Atul Save attended the event as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the teachings given by Sant Sevalal Maharaj around 250 years ago remain equally relevant and guiding even today. “Love all living beings, understand any matter thoroughly, verify it, and only then accept it,” was the message of Maharaj, which continues to be applicable to present-day society.

Under the guidance of Pramod Rathod, Seva Pratishthan is expected to undertake more impactful work in the future, Save added.
