3 killed; one injured in two motorcycle collision

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A tragic accident took place on the Turkabad-Kharadi to Malkapur road when two motorcycles collided head-on, resulting in the death of three individuals and serious injury to one. The accident took place around 1.30 pm on Friday in the Shirodi Shivar. The injured person is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The horrific accident happened when two motorcycles heading to a wedding ceremony collided head-on. The deceased have been identified as Akash Machhindra Sathe (26, Turkabad Kharadi), Sumeet Appasaheb Awhad (17, Turkabad Kharadi), and Mushtaq Munir Shah (19, Domegaon in Gangapur tehsil). Meanwhile, Mubarak Shah was critically injured and is receiving treatment.

Police said, “Mushtaq Shah and Mubarak Shah were riding towards Turkabad on a motorcycle (MH 20 FO 8451), while Akash Sathe and Sumit Awhad were on another motorcycle (MH 20 FM 0824) heading towards Malkapur for a wedding. The two motorcycles collided head-on in the Shirodi area. The impact was so intense that all four riders were thrown onto the road and sustained serious injuries.

Locals rushed to the spot and immediately transported the injured to a government hospital in an ambulance provided by Narendraacharya Maharaj from Isarwadi Phata. Two of the injured succumbed to their injuries on Friday night, while the third died on Saturday morning. An accidental death report has been filed at the Waluj Police Station, and further investigation is on.
