Aurangabad, Nov 11: A mattress company along with three other adjoining shops, reduced to ashes, as the company caught fire accidently on Jatwada Road on Wednesday morning. The losses to the tune of Rs 13 lakh have been reported in the fire incident.

Akbar Khan runs a mattress factory on Jatwada Road. The factory godown accidently caught fire on Wednesday at around 11.15 am. The cotton, cloths, machine and foam caught fire and spread quickly in the surrounding. The shop owner quickly called the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) fire brigade office. However, the fire spread all over the area until the fire fighting squad could reach the spot.

Along with the factory, the adjoining National Fabrication Shop of Syed Aslam Syed Hussain (Saeeda Colony) and a hotel of Farooqui Abdul Vakil (Baijipura) and a chicken shop of Danish Salim Qureshi got in the clutches of the fire.

The fire brigade jawans brought the fire under control after the strenuous efforts of around one hours with the help of two fire tenders. The mattress factory incurred the losses of around Rs 13 lakh, the hotel around Rs 50,000 and the chicken shop of around Rs 30 lakh, all amounting to around Rs 14 lakh.

The flames were seen from long distances, and people gathered in large numbers to see the fire. The police then disbursed the crowd.
