Aurangabad, Oct 19:

Sessions Judge, M S Deshpande, sentenced four persons to ten years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and Rs 2,000 fine each for attacking the complainant with a sickle and snatching Rs 14,000 and a mobile phone from him.

The accused are Vishnu Ashok Khanse (Bharadi, Ambad), Durgesh Shivaji Navghare (Jalna), Aniruddha alias Mauli Shahurao Udaan (Alandi) and Nana alias Rahul Uddhav Gaikwad (Shirale, Barshi).

Complainant Lalit Jagdishsingh Dixit is staying behind Dhoot Hospital and he identified the accused during the identification parade. The accused had dumped the complainant in a Tata Magic car and took him to a deserted place on Kaudgaon Shivar to Malegaon Road. They robbed him of Rs 14,000 and a mobile phone, the complainant mentioned in his complaint.

Under the guidance of SP, Mokshada Patil and other senior officers, police team including PI A V Raikar, PSI S S Rodge and others investigated the case and submitted a charge-sheet in the court. During the hearing, the government prosecutor, M A Aher registered statements of eight witnesses. As the charges were proved, the above order was issued under section 394 with 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
