Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A complaint was lodged with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) against an employee of the Police Commissionerate. According to sources, the ACB team disguised themselves and set a trap at the Police Commissionerate. However, since the concerned employee did not fall into the trap, the ACB team had to return empty-handed.

The ACB team entered the commissionerate campus around 11 am to set a trap. However, since the concerned employee did not accept the amount demanded from the complainant, the team's plan was thwarted. Interestingly, the employee against whom the complaint was filed was working in the office of a senior official at the Police Commissionerate. After the operation failed, the ACB team left the premises.

Afterwards, a sensation prevailed in the commissionerate campus. Senior police officers and employees were inquiring about the trap from one another. However, by afternoon, the matter completely cooled down. There was also speculation that sources were being moved at higher levels regarding this issue. When a senior police officer was asked about it, they confirmed the report that the ACB team had entered the commissionerate. However, the ACB officials did not respond to any queries regarding the matter.

Will a case be registered for the demand?

The ACB team conducts operations with all the necessary evidence. If a public servant is not caught in an actual trap, a case is registered against the individual for demanding a bribe. However, in this case, it has come to light that no such case has been registered. There is also speculation that the matter may have been suppressed.
