Aurangabad, March 14:

The Chikalthana police arrested the absconding accused, at large after killing his wife at Rukhmini Square Apartment at Pisadevi area on February 15, within a month of the incident.

The accused Siddhesh Gangashankar Trivedi (35, Rukhmini Square Apartment, Pisadevi) sold the jewellery of his wife Kavita Siddhesh Trivedi (32) without her knowledge. When she asked him about the jewellery, he told her that he sold it for Rs 95,000. Both of them quarreled over the issue and in a fit of rage, he murdered her by hitting on head with dumbbells. After killing her, he locked the flat and fled away from the city. The police received the information that he was hiding at Diu and Daman. Accordingly, a team including PSI Pradeep Thube, constable Ravindra Salve, Deepal Surase and S B Ghuge went there and arrested Tiwari.

Tiwari on February 15 killed his wife Kavita by hitting on her head with dumbbells. She was lying in the pool of blood. His eight years old son and three years old daughter saw him killing Kavita. He then locked both the children along with Kavita in the flat and fled away on his Scooty. Next day, her father Jagdish Ishwarrao Avasthi (Lohoner, Nashik) lodged a complaint against Trivedi at the Chikalthana police station.
