Aurangabad, April 13:

Santosh Sananse, arrested in the kidnapping case of a six-year-old boy, revealed that he committed the crime to pay Rs 6 lakh loan of three private moneylenders and installments of flat sold to his friend.

According to details, Santosh had kidnapped six-year-old boy Shaurya Somshekhar Hiremath from Wadgaon Kolhat on Monday and demanded Rs 20 lakh ransom from the boy's mother Poornima on the phone.

Police solved the case within three hours and got free the boy from the accused.

Police produced the accused in the court, which granted him police custody up to April 15.

During the interrogation, the accused revealed to the police that he had taken Rs 6 lakh loan from three private moneylenders because of a business loss. He had purchased a flat of Rs 18 lakh in Waluj Mahanagar.

Since moneylenders insisted on him making repayment, he took Rs 2 lakh from his and sold him the flat at Rs 18 lakh.

The accused confessed that he had kidnapped the boy to pay the loans of moneylenders and get himself free. He felt that he would get Rs 20 lakh from the boy’s father, who runs a grocery shop and his mother who runs an English school.

He claimed that he alone was involved in the crime. Assistant police inspector Gautam Wavle is on the case.
