Aurangabad, Dec 10: Akash Sampati Mane who was arrested on Wednesday by the Cidco Police at Dharur in Beed district told the police that he had secured the currency note printing formula from his Pune-based friend at Rs 1 lakh.
As reported earlier, the police arrested Sandeep Shrimant Aragade and Nikhil Bababsaheb Sambherao in the evening on December 8 when they reached a TV centre shopping complex to sell the fake currency notes.
During the enquiry, the name of Akash Mane surfaced. Police went to Dharur, brought here after arresting him on Wednesday. It was revealed in the investigation that Mane himself printed fake currency notes through laptop and printer in his multi service customer centre.
Police recovered fake currency notes of Rs 2.85 lakh and other articles from the trio. Police brought them face to face and probed. It was found that Akash secured the technique of fake currency notes from his Pune based friend Thorat on paying the latter Rs 1 lakh. Akash carried this formula in pen-drive. The fake currency notes deals were being done on commission basis. Akash gave forged currency notes valued at Rs 1 lakh at Rs 20,000 to the accused Aragade.
Aragade handed over fake currency notes valued at 10,000 to Sambherao at Rs 3,500 commission. Sambherao, who gave Rs 1500 to Aragade, was searching the customers to sell the counterfeit currency in the city. He had done preparations to sell fake currency valued at Rs 1 lakh to another person at the commission of Rs 35,000.
Investigating officer Pravin Patil produced Akash Mane in a court which remanded Mane to police custody up to December 14.
