Aurangabad, Dec 15:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has deployed its four nodal officers to attend the online training workshop organised by the state government on Coronavirus vaccination drive. The AMC has plans to spare ten more nodal officers to participate in the training. The AMC is expecting to receive the Coronavirus vaccine stock in the first week of January 2021.

The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar confirmed that the training to the nodal officers is imparted online through an app. " Presently, four nodal officers are participating in the training. The appointment orders 8-10 more nodal officers will be issued, and they will also be taking part in the online training. There is a vaccination officer in AMC, and the health section will be giving important responsibility to him during the drive," said Dr Padalkar adding that the survey is underway to plan to set up centres for administering vaccine during the drive.

It is believed, the number of centres will be less in first two phases, but the AMC will have to set up a large number of centres (about a 100) in the third phase considering the strength of beneficiaries in future. The health section has geared up to implement the drive successfully. The facility to store vaccine has been reviewed, while other ground-level preparations are underway.
