Aurangabad, Nov 21:

The health personnel of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) have detected 65 teachers and non-teaching staff as Coronavirus infected, after collecting swab samples of 2,899 teachers for RT-PCR test, in the last couple of days.

Earlier, the government has ordered the schools and colleges to re-open from November 23. As a result, the civic administration arranged the RT-PCR test facility for the personnel from the educational sector at the 16 centres, situated in different corners, of the city. Accordingly, the health personnel collected swabs of 2,899 teachers and other staff on Thursday and Friday. Their RT-PCR reports got received today and reported 65 of them as infected. Today, the civic teams collected swabs of 1676 teachers and other staff, and their lab reports are to receive by tomorrow. Hence, in the past three days, AMC collected swabs of 4,575 teachers and other staff.

The test facility is available at primary health centres (of Chikalthana, Ramnagar, Shivajinagar, Baijipura, Harshnagar, N-8, N-11 and N-2) Covid Care Centres (of Kile Ark, MGM, Padampura and MIT College), Cantonment Hospital, Reliance Mall and Tapadiya Kasliwal Ground.
