AMC prepares 10 days cleanliness schedule; Appeals citizens to participate voluntarily
Aurangabad, Nov 3:
The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has prepared a ten-days long schedule to clean up the garbage waste from each zone of the city. It will be implemented simultaneously by sanitary workers and the citizens under the Love Aurangabad campaign.
The proposal is an initiative to clean up the city, this Diwali, as a part of Cleanliness Campaign. The AMC has prepared two separate schedules, said the head of solid waste management (SWM) cell Nandkishore Bhombe adding that the initiative of AMC administrator is yielding results.
As per Schedule-I, which is for sanitary workers, each zone office will implement a special cleanliness drive in its jurisdiction on November 4, clean up all AMC gardens on November 5, vicinity of city gates and heritage places on November 6, collect plastic waste on November 8, clean up AMC schools and hospitals on November 9, premises of government offices on November 10, commercial places on November 11 and waste from all dividers in each zone on November 13.
The Schedule-II is for the citizens desirous of participating in the drive. They should clean up their house on November 4, their vicinity on November 5, vicinity of housing society or colony on November 6, participate in the Mega Cleanliness drive to be implemented by each zone office on November 7, implement tree plantation programme on November 8, prepare environment-friendly decorative items on November 9, suggest instructions or ideas and post them on social media in connection with the cleanliness of the city on November 10, donate old clothes or other items lying in the house to AMC''s sanitary workers under Wall of Humanity on November 11 and express gratitude to sanitary workers on November 13.
Bhombe said, " The citizens who will participate in the drive will be presented with an appreciation letter duly signed by the municipal administrator A K Pandey. Hence societies, organisations etc. should participate in the cleanliness campaign in large numbers."
