Aurangabad, Nov 11:

Unidentified thieves attempted to break open an ATM centre of ICICI Bank at Ranjangaon Shenpunji (in Waluj MIDC area) on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday. To prevent themselves from CCTV cameras, they sprayed on it but failed to take out the cash from the machine. There was Rs 3.97 lakh cash in the machine.

The ATM is in Krishna Dhapke''s Complex at Duttnagar Phata. The thieves attempted to break open the centre on Tuesday midnight. The residents passing through the road today early this morning noticed the damage and alerted the Waluj MIDC police. Acting on the information, the police inspector Madhukar Sawant, assistant PI Gautam Wavale, head constable Khayyum Pathan, naik Prakash Gaikwad and others inspected the centre.

The police observed that thieves tried their best to pull the machine outside the ATM centre as in this attempt the glass door of the centre had got damaged. Meanwhile, the cops are going through the CCTV cameras installed at different places in the vicinity to identify the thieves.
