Aurangabad, June 22:

The special team of the Commissioner of Police arrested an auto driver at Railway Station area on Tuesday while selling banned drugs like Mephedrone.

The accused Mohsin Ali Hashmi Ayyub Ali Hashmi (42, Anandnagar, Padegaon) was arrested with 28 ml mephedrone (MD) powder, 100 tablets of Nitrosun and 200 tables of Alpracon, and a mobile handset, all worth Rs 3,345.

Assistant police inspector and public relations officer of the CP Rahul Rode received information that one person was coming to Jagirdar Colony to sell banned tablets.

Acting on a tip-off, Rahul Rode, constable Syed Shakil, Imran Pathan, A R Kharat, Vijay Nikam Vithal Aade, V S Pawar and Food and Drugs Administration inspector Jeevan Jadhav laid a trap at Railway Station area. The accused was seen moving near Sai Trade at 4 pm today. He was frisked in the presence of Panch and found banned drugs in his possession in a white plastic bag. He was to sell stimulant tablet and powders. The process of registering a case against the accused with Vedantnagar Police Station was underway.
