Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Under “Operation Amanat” and “Operation Yatri Suraksha,” the Railway Protection Force (RPF) detained three suspects at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar railway station. A mobile phone forgotten by a passenger on a train was also returned.

Under “Operation Amanat,” a complaint was received via Rail Madad on April 11. Passenger Praful Dharmchand Bardhiya had forgotten his mobile phone while travelling on the Vande Bharat Express. Acting swiftly on the complaint, RPF personnel Rakesh Kumar Sharma and Phool Singh boarded the train and secured the mobile. After necessary verification, the phone was handed over to the passenger’s representative, Sarfaraz.

Under “Operation Yatri Suraksha,” the RPF’s Crime Intelligence Branch (Nanded), in coordination with the Government Railway Police (GRP), carried out a special surveillance drive to prevent theft of passengers’ belongings. On April 11, a team led by SIPF Dilip Kamble detained one suspect on Platform No. 1 while the Nanded–Amritsar Sachkhand Express was stationed. He was found roaming with the intention of stealing passengers’ belongings.

Case registered

On April 12, the same team detained two more suspects on Platform No. 2 while the Tapovan Express was halted. The accused have been identified as Shehbaz (resident of Uttar Pradesh) and Saif (resident of Hyderabad, Telangana). They have been handed over to the railway police for further action, and a case has been registered under the Maharashtra Police Act.
