Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has carried out an anti-encroachment drive, demolishing unauthorized structures which affect the locals. But what about the big players of encroachment?

In a recent action, MIDC demolished long-standing encroachments on the road leading to Padmapani Buddha Vihar at Maharana Pratap Chowk. While this move earned praise from the public, questions are now being raised as only partial encroachments have been removed. Further down the same road, several hospitals have illegally occupied the traffic lanes, with four-wheelers and two-wheelers being parked directly on the encroached roads. This has caused severe inconvenience to commuters.

Locals claim that officials act swiftly against small encroachments but hesitate to take action against influential violators. Many are now asking whether MIDC is selectively protecting major encroachers. With previous encroachments removed, citizens are now questioning when the remaining illegal structures will be cleared.

No one will be spared…

"We have removed several permanent encroachments during this drive. Another anti-encroachment operation will be conducted soon, and all illegal structures will be demolished. No one will be spared."----------(Ganesh Mulikar, Engineer, MIDC)
