A 55 years old man took his own life just four days before his daughter’s wedding in Wangi village, Sillod taluka. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sarjerao Bhagaji Salve (age 55), a resident of Wangi.

The Salve family had been preparing for the wedding, which was set for April 18. After dinner, Salve went to bed with the family on Saturday. He was found hanging in the house the next morning by his wife and children. Despite being rushed to the sub district hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family, and the last rites were conducted at 1 pm. The cause of his suicide remains unclear, and the police are investigating. An accidental death case has been registered at the Sillod Rural Police Station. Salve is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and daughter-in-law.

Grief strikes family

The family is devastated, and the entire village mourns the loss. Salve’s daughter and relatives were overcome with grief, unable to understand the cause of his actions.
