Aurangabad, May 25:

The birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Buddha will be celebrated at home in the city on May 26 in view of COVID spread.

Bhadant Bodhipalo Mahashtaveer, Bhadant Vishuddhanand Bodhi Mahasthaveer and district president of Bhartiya Bauddha Mahasabha Kishor Johre appealed to the community members to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha at home as the COVID threat has not reduced yet.

Bhadant Bodhipalo Mahashtaveer said that panchashil flag should be hoisted on each house and recite ‘Aryaashtangamarga’.

“All members of families should perform pooja of portrait of Lord Buddha. Bhikkus should ensure that there should be no crowding to reduce the spread of the pandemic virus. All should participate in the online programme of Bhikku Sangh to be held at 9 am on Wednesday,” he added.

Bhadant Nagsen and district president of Bauddha Mahasabha Kishor Johre aid that several programmes including ‘Dhyansadhna, Parpatranpath and Dhamma Dhwajarohan, will be organised near Buddha caves, at 5 am onwards on Wednesday in the presence of few Bhikkus. Samata Sainik Dal will pay homage by following all pandemic measures.

Bhadant Dnyanraksht said that different online programmes between 5 am to 9 pm will be conducted on May 26 under Dhammamai Bharat Mission. All those who will participate in the programme will be given a certificate of Dhammamai Bharat Mission.

Bhadant Nagsen and Bhadant Dnyanraksht said that ‘Shramner Shibir’ is organised every year on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Lord Buddha's birth anniversary and Vijayadashmi would be hosted to contain the spread of the pandemic virus.
