Every year, the Central Government deploys a team in the city for the assessment of cleanliness under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. As per schedule, the team inspect the city by visiting different wards to jot down the real sitaution in 2-3 days and leave the city. This year, however, one week has passed and the team is still in the city. According to the sources, the stay of the team has been prolonged for few more days as the team will be visiting municipal corporation’s gardens and schools.

This year, the officials of private agency appointed by the central government arrived in the city for the cleanliness survey on March 5. The team comprising women members visited several wards in the city and through interaction with the residents record down their feedbacks. Their questionnaire include whether you are satisfied with the cleanliness; does the sewage waste water spreads on the roads; etc.

After visiting various wards, the assessment team also visited all four garbage processing plants and then submitted the observations online in the form of answers to 50 questions. For the first time, the gardens will also be inspected, said the sources. They would be visiting atleast 20 gardens and same number of the civic schools in the city.
