CEO reviews election preparations, orders to stay tune with SEC

Aurangabad, Nov 26:

The principal secretary and chief election officer (CEO) Baldev Singh today instructed to ensure that the election code of conduct is implemented strictly during Marathwada Graduates'' Constituency election. He also alerted the election officials to take all safety measures in the backdrop of Covid-19. Singh today reviewed the election preparations in all eight districts at the divisional commissionerate through video-conferencing.

The CEO at state election commission (SEC) said, " The election officials should ensure that the voters maintain physical distance during the voting at all the polling stations. The voters should not be allowed entry without the usage of sanitiser. All the polling stations should be sanitised, before the date of voting. The officers should also take care that there is no irregularity or violation takes place on the day of voting or during the counting of votes. If any objectional incident takes place the election staff should report it to the SEC immediately."

Singh also suggested the election administration to remain alert so that confusion does not prevail amongst the voters on the voting day. He told the officers to educate voters about the election process through awareness drive. Meanwhile, the police have been told to maintain tight police bandobast so that the election is held peacefully and safely. The joint CEO Anil Walvi, election returning officer Sunil Kendrekar, commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta, special IGP K M Prasanna, district collector Sunil Chavan and other districts collectors, superintendents of police (SPs) were present at the VC.
