Chaos in health dept recruitment exams over delay in question paper distribution

Aurangabad, Feb 28:

Hundreds of candidates had to face inconvenience due to delay in receiving question papers in the recruitment examinations on Sunday.

The Public Health Department conducted examinations to recruit group-C category posts in two sessions across the State today.

There was chaos at several centres in the city. The paper in the second that was to begin at 3 pm started at 4.30 pm. The examinees had to face inconvenience because of the delay.

The timing of the second paper was from 3 pm to 5 pm. The candidates reached St Meera School centre at 1.30 pm. However, the vehicle carrying the question paper reached the centre at 4.25 pm.

When parents asked the driver about delayed arriving, he replied that he took a halt for lunch. The centres like S B College of Arts and Commerce too received the question paper at 4 pm instead of 3 pm. Parents expressed displeasure over the delay in the commencement of the question paper.

Private taxi service was hired to dispatch the questions papers. The taxi had only a driver than the health department employees to take care of the question paper.

Parents said that the driver informed that he had taken a halt for lunch. They demanded action against those responsible for the chaos.

The thermal gun is used for checking because of COVID spread. However, metal detectors were used in many centres. Several candidates were denied entry at some centres just because of two minutes delay.

The candidates they are from outstation and reached the centre late as they were searching centres through GPS.

The examination conducting process was outsourced. Deputy director of health department Dr Swapnil Lale said that the candidates were given extra time because of delay. He refused to make further comment on the examinations delay
