Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The city recorded its highest temperature of the season on Monday, with the mercury rising to 41.2°C. According to the Meteorological Department, the upward trend in maximum temperatures has begun.

After Sunday’s peak of 40.4°C the highest so far this summer the temperature climbed further on Monday. This marks the highest temperature recorded this season, and there is a possibility that this record may be broken again over the next four days.

The minimum temperature also rose by 2°C to 25.7°C on Monday. With the sun positioned over the northern hemisphere, heat intensity has increased, while rising humidity is contributing to warmer nights. Weather observers indicate that temperatures are likely to continue rising until May 12.

Further rise expected

Due to weakening westerly winds and changing atmospheric conditions, a heatwave-like situation has begun. Temperatures are expected to rise further over the next 2 to 4 days, possibly crossing 44°C in the city and surrounding areas.

The heat will be most intense between 9 am and 5:30 pm, while rising night temperatures will add to discomfort.
