Aurangabad, Feb 5:

High-quality cement roads and large buildings in the city, as well as expensive cars running on the roads, are not counted for an ideal city but it depends on the standard of living of the citizens. It is important to consciously inculcate good environmental and health habits in us. Organizations like Get Going have been working for the past ten years and every citizen should do the same, said municipal administrator Astik Kumar Pandey on Friday.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the innovative competition called Duathlon organized by Get Going for the first time in Marathwada. The competition started at 6.30 am on Friday. Thousands of competitors from across the country had registered online for the Duathlon competition. The competitions will continue till February 7. Only 50 participants were invited to the inaugural event. The participants had gathered at Vasantrao Naik Chowk. The competition has 5 and 10 kilometres running and 10 and 20 kilometres cycling. MLA Atul Save, Dr Praveen Suryavanshi, Dr Vijay Vyavahare from the Cyclist Foundation, Sandeep Singh, Perleen Singh from Mrs Foodrite, Municipal ward officer Meera Chavan and others were present.
