Aurangabad, Nov 4:

The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested the Phulambri tehsil office clerk red-handed while accepting Rs 4,000 bribe from a farmer for issuing the order copy of the hearing on registering the farmland in the complainant and his brother’s names.

The arrested clerk has been identified as Suresh Gangaram Sadavarte (Kasliwal Bhagyoday, Shivajinagar).

As per the information, the complainant had applied to the tehsil office register the farmland in his father’s name on his and his brother’s name. The tehsildar held a hearing on the application and issued the related orders. The complainant met clerk Sadavarte to get a copy of the order. However, Sadavarte demanded Rs 5,000 for it. As he was not willing to pay the bribe, he lodged a complaint at the ACB.

Under the guidance of SP, Dr Rahul Khade, Dr Anita Jamadar, DSP Brahmadev Gawade the team including PI Mahadev Dhakne and others executed the action. The complainant was asked to make a deal and assure Sadavarte to pay Rs 4,000 after negotiation. Accordingly, a trap was laid at the Phulambri tehsil office. The clerk was arrested red-handed while accepting Rs 4,000 from the farmer. A case has been registered at the Phulambri police station.
