A clerk of the Lokvikas Bank embezzled Rs 47 lakh of the customers by using the computers of the bank officers and employees. It was unveiled that he transferred this amount on his account and used to withdraw regularly. The bank has lodged a complaint at the Cidco police station against the clerk and a lady accomplice.
The clerk has been identified as Bharat Mhasuji Shinde (Chauraha). According to the details, suspect Shinde works as a clerk in Lokvikas Urban Co-operative Bank at N-9, Cidco branch. He was well versed in computers as compared to the other officers and employees in the bank. Hence, the other employees used to take his assistance whenever they faced any problem while working on the computers. Taking advantage of the situation, Shinde transferred the customers'' money in his and a woman’s accounts by using the computers of the officers and the other employees between the period of July 13 to October 12. He cheated the bank by transferring Rs 47 lakh in four months. Moreover, he transferred the withdrawn amount to the customers’ accounts from the bank funds again so that his theft should not come to the fore. Meanwhile, the officers conducted the audit of the transactions and the embezzlement came to the fore. Hence, chief executive officer, Sanjay Auti (Beed By-pass area) lodged a complaint against Shinde and the woman at the Cidco police station. PSI Patil is further investigating the case under the guidance of PI, Ashok Giri.
