A routine auto-rickshaw ride turned into a nightmare for two women after a co-passenger stole their gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 15,300 recently between Cidco Bus Stand and Pundliknagar.

Shobha Taur, a Gajanan Colony resident and Leela Jaitmal boarded an auto around 5 pm from Cidco Bus Stand to Pundliknagar after completing their work. Upon reaching home, they discovered that Taur’s 10-gram gold chain and Rs 15,000 in cash were missing, while Jaitmal lost a 5-gram chain and Rs 300 in cash. They later realized the co-passenger sitting beside them had stolen their belongings. Pundliknagar police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
