Aurangabad, April 22:

The district collector Sunil Chavan has ordered the nodal agency - Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) - to plan the completion of the city's new water supply project of valuing Rs 1680 crore, before its deadline.

He reviewed the status of waterworks at the district collectorate today. MJP superintending engineer Ajay Singh, PWD's deputy engineer Ashok Yerekar, deputy conservator (wildlife) D R Wakchaure, sub-divisional officer R R Rodge, AMC's executive engineer Hemant Kolhe, Sanjay Kombde, Ajit Waghmare, and SDO S P Dhawale were present in the meeting.

The water project will be completed in three phases. There is planning to enhance the supply of water to the city by December-end. Hence, after reviewing, the collector ordered to prepare a time-bound program to complete the phase-wise works. With this aim all the government machinery should unite to complete it before the deadline, he said. MJP's Singh briefed upon the details of the project implementation plan in the meeting.
