Aurangabad, Nov 26:

The election returning officer (ERO) and the divisional commissioner Sunil Kendrekar today ordered the election staff to conduct counting of votes during Marathwada Graduates'' Constituency election carefully, fairly and transparently.

He was guiding the district collectors, deputy commissioners, additional collectors, tehsildars and other key officers from the region, who had gathered to attend the election training organised at Marathwada Realtors Pvt Ltd, opposite Kalagram, in Chikalthana, today. The election observer B Venugopal Reddy was also present on occasion.

Kendrekar said, " The counting of votes should be done without any error, with speed and with responsibility. Each of them should perform their given duties and responsibilities seriously."

The deputy commissioner Pandurang Kulkarni gave a presentation highlighting process to count votes, scheduled programme, division of responsibilities, how to detect invalid votes (with examples), round wise counting of votes and legal provisions etc.

Meanwhile, the election observer Reddy congratulated the divisional commissioner and the district collector Sunil Chavan for the film prepared under their guidance to create awareness. The deputy collectors Bharat Kadam and Anjali Dhanorkar through a film gave a demonstration on the dummy process of counting of votes. Deputy commissioner Parag Soman, Pandurang Kulkarni and additional collector Anant Gavhane extended their support in film making.
