CSMC collects Rs 151 crore in taxes

Under the leadership of the municipal commissioner G Sreekanth and the deputy commissioner Aparna Thete, the zone-wise civic teams are leaving no stone unturned to boost the figures of property tax and water tax collections in the current financial year.
The countdown has begun and more than three weeks are left to conclude the financial year. The civic officials and personnel have intensified the collection drive and their efforts are yielding results.
In the current financial year from April 1, 2024, to March 6, 2025, the municipal corporation through its 10 zonal offices recorded a collection of Rs 151.27 crore. It includes property tax of Rs 130.08 crore and water tax of Rs 21.19 crore.
In the combined collection of property and water taxes, Zone Number 7, 5 and 9 tops the list by collecting Rs 22.54 crore; Rs 20.99 crore and Rs 20.27 crore respectively. Meanwhile, the poorest collection in property tax is Zone Number 10 and the water tax is Zone Number 8.
