The Aurangabad Customs Chapter Cell of Nagpur Customs Commissionerate celebrated International Customs Day 2026 at ICD Maliwada on Sunday, highlighting the theme “Customs protecting society through vigilance and commitment,” and emphasising the role of customs in secure trade and supply chain protection.
Assistant commissioner Satish M. Dandge said customs operations are fully conducted through the ICEGATE portal with a single-window system for faster, transparent cargo clearance. He noted exports from ICD Maliwada surged by 183% in FY-2026 compared to the previous year and announced that CONCOR will soon provide a dedicated charging facility for reefer containers to support perishable cargo exports. Superintendent Devendra Patil and inspector Akhilesh Sharma were honoured with commendation certificates for outstanding service. Joint commissioner Rohit Nigwekar encouraged traders to increase import-export activities, especially agro-based products, to develop ICD Maliwada as an agro hub for Marathwada. Superintendent Vikram Singh explained schemes such as faceless clearance, refunds, drawbacks, AEO, MOOWR, IGCR, and e-bond, while superintendent Ganesh Durgam highlighted customs roles and Shendra SEZ activities. Top importers, exporters, and stakeholders were felicitated, and a tree plantation drive was also held.
