Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Present and past Senator members of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Univeristy demanded that the date of final Ph D thesis submission of old students registered before 2025 should be extended up to June 30.

It may be noted that the university asked the old researchers to submit their thesis by March 31 with a fine of Rs 10,000. Some students submitted their thesis while many other could do so for some unavoidable reseasons. The date will end on coming Monday.

A group of past and present Senators including Dr Rajesh Karpe, Dr Umakant Rathod, Dr Sunil Magre, Dr Fulchand Salampure and others broughted to the notice of the VC that some students appeared for Pre-Ph D viva voce and further process of submission theis.

They demanded an opportunity through extending the date for three months (up to June 30) should be given to the researchers.

"Those who do not have a PhD degree will not be promoted. Moreover, the university will also get financial income through fines and students will not suffer any academic loss," they said.
