Domestic help steals 8 tolas of gold & cash from police officer’s home
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A domestic servant working at the residence of a senior woman police officer allegedly stole 8 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs 4,000 in cash from the bedroom.
According to details, the senior woman police officer serving in the city police force resides in a colony near Adalat Road.
As per the complaint given by her mother, gold bangles weighing 8 tolas and cash kept in the bedroom of her house went missing between January 6 and January 16.
During that period, apart from the officer and the domestic help, Sumit Subhash Nindane (28), no one else had entered the house.
So, suspicion fell on him for stealing the 8-tola gold bangles and cash kept in the dressing table of the bedroom.
The police officers immediately took note of the matter, detained Sumit, and questioned him. During interrogation, he confessed to the theft. Subsequently, a case was registered against him at the Vedantnagar Police Station, and he was arrested.
Notably, the accused, Sumit Nindane, is a government employee who had joined service recently on compassionate grounds. Investigation revealed that he committed the act out of greed for money and gold.
