Aurangabad, Nov 25:

The municipal officer of health (MoH) at Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dr Neeta Padalkar has today confirmed that the civic administration would soon issue work order to the contractor to set up liquid oxygen plant at its Covid Care Centre in Meltron Company (Chikalthana). The district administration has assured of granting fund of Rs 1 crore through district planning committee (DPC).

Earlier, the state government had set up a CCC in the Meltron Company and handed it over to AMC to operate it for the treatment of Coronavirus infected patients. Many a time, the staff needs oxygen when the level of oxygen in the analyser goes down. There are 258 beds, and presently 128 patients are undergoing treatment at the CCC.

A meeting to set up a 20 KL capacity oxygen plant on the campus of CCC was held with the guardian minister Subhash Desai so that the patients at each bed could get the oxygen facility. The district administration agreed to grant Rs 1 crore for the project through DPC. Accordingly, the AMC invited the tender and finalised Sagar Agency. However, due to non-availability of the fund, the AMC did not issue the work order. The municipal commissioner A K Pandey had a meeting with the district collector Sunil Chavan in this regard and urged to release the fund. " The AMC has received a letter of fund-approval from the DPC. We will soon be issuing the work order," said Dr Padalkar.
