Aurangabad, Nov 4:

The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) today informed that a stock of 4,970 Remdesivir injections is available in the district. Meanwhile, the health administration adds that the above quantity of injections is sufficient for the treatment of 825 Covid-19 patients.

Remdesivir injection plays a vital role in boosting immunity in the Coronavirus infected patient. Around six injections are given to each critical patient. " There is a drop in the number of Covid-19 patients in the district. As a result, the stock of injections is available at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), District Rural Hospital (DCH) and private hospitals," said the FDA joint commissioner Sanjay Kale.

GMCH dean Dr Kanan Yelikar said, " The hospital has a stock of 842 injections which would be exhausted in a month."

While the DCH civil surgeon Dr S V Kulkarni added, " We have ample stock of injections. Their expiry date is December. Hence, we will soon be handing over the injections to GMCH as critical patients undergo treatment there, and the administration would utilise it accordingly."
