Aurangabad, Nov 8:
There is a rush in the market for Diwali shopping. Hence to avoid traffic jams, four-wheelers will not be allowed to enter the market from Paithan gate. However, two-wheelers and three-wheelers are being allowed. Traders have appointed bouncers to co-operate with the police to discipline traffic.
Markets in the old city are packed with customers and face continuous traffic jams. As this will affect the business, traders from Paithan gate and Tilakpath areas, led by Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh president Jagannath Kale, met deputy commissioner of police Nikesh Khatmode on Sunday. After the discussion, the officials inspected the Paithan gate area. Traffic PI Mukund Deshmukh was present on the occasion. Barricades were set up at Paithan gate on the demand of traders. Only two-wheelers and three-wheelers are being allowed access and four-wheelers are being parked outside. This will reduce the problem of traffic jams, traders said. Traders including Laxminarayan Rathi, Ghulam Haqqani, Yusuf Mukti of Paithan Gate-Tilak Path Vyapari Association, Dilip Chotlani, Anil Agarwal, Bharat Shah and Zaheer Bhai were present on the occasion.
