Aurangabad, Dec 7:
The tehsil land record (TLR) office has started the measurement of a narrow road passing through Harsul village. The primary report mentions that more than 100 properties, situated on both sides of the road, are likely to be affected due to widening of the road.
The road is narrow till the bridge, situated outside the village. The road is proposed for widening up to 100 feet. Presently, there is traffic congestion every day for 4-5times due to the narrow road. The tourists are the worst affected due to the traffic as they get stuck for hours in the traffic.
The then municipal commissioner, P N Bhapkar, had initiated in the widening of the narrow road. Later on, the civic body stepped back after it learnt that the public works department (PWD) is the custodian of the road. Former deputy mayor Vijay Autade had aggressively pursued the matter. Now, PWD has geared up to widen the road. It had also deposited Rs 6 lakh with TLR for measurement of the road and jot down details of properties affected in the project.
The measurement has been started under the guidance of TLR officer Shaikh Aref from Monday. Autade interacted with the affected property-holders. He said, " The Department of Animal Husbandry owns open land near the village. Hence we would check out whether their space can be given to the affected property-holders."
