Aurangabad, Dec 14:

In its interim orders, the Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court comprising Justice S V Gangapurwala and Justice S D Kulkarni asked Mahaveetran on December 11 not to give an appointment letter to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates until the next hearing.

According to details, Mahaveetran invited applications for 28 posts of degree holder trainee engineers and 327 posts of diploma holder trainee engineers.

The petitioners and others applied from SEBC category. The selection list of those candidates who have passed the test was released. The verification of documents was done at Nashik. Mahaveetran sent caste certificates of selected candidates including petitioners for the verification. They were not given appointment letters because of the spread of Novel coronavirus.

The Supreme Court gave the stay on Maratha reservation (SEBC) two months ago. The electricity company kept seats of Maratha candidates and started the process to issue appointment letters to other category selected candidates who have less marks than SEBC candidates.

Petitioners Avinash Avhad, Satish Shingote, Parmeshwar Bhalke, Bharti Ambhore and Bhagwat Ghadge filed a petition through adv Amol Chalak to challenge it. The next hearing has been placed on December 21.
