Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Authorities have deployed private informants in Khultabad and nearby villages to track underground movements amid rising security concerns around Aurangzeb’s tomb. A three-tier security cover has been placed around the site, with strict police vigilance and entry restrictions, district collector Dileep Swami confirmed.

The administration intensified security after certain social organizations issued warnings about demolishing the tomb, keeping law enforcement on high alert. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has reinforced protections as the tomb remains a nationally protected monument. Collector Swami assured that all measures are in place to prevent any law-and-order disturbances. Authorities have banned outsiders with potential disruptive intent, while security personnel monitor entry points. The Archaeological Department has been directed to inspect and maintain the tomb’s protective iron grills to prevent any breach.
