Aurangabad, April 29:

Directed by renowned actor Makarand Anaspure, 'Kalokhachya Parambya' has been selected for the 24th Brooklyn Film Festival in New York. The festival is being held from June 4 to 13. The movie was shortlisted from 2,500 films from 93 countries in the competition.

The film is based on the story 'Duff' by renowned author Bharat Sasane. The movie depicts how once life is affected by lust and greed. Anaspure has very effectively underlined the importance of restraint in life, in 'Kalokhachya Parambaya'. Makarand has also played the central role of Rahimchacha along with Vaibhav Kale, Kajal Raut, Purushottam Chandekar, Dr Raju Sonawane, Preshit Rudrawar have a major role. The film is named by renowned actor Nana Patekar. Screenplay and dialogues by Shrikant Saraf - Hemant Patil and art direction by Prashant Kumbhar, costumes by Kundan Divekar and costumes by Goral Pohne. The film was shot in a village in Satara district before the corona crisis last year. Cinematographer Suresh Deshmane of 'Kalokhachya Parambya' won the award for best cinematography at the Moscow International Film Festival. The film has also been selected for the Pune International Film Festival.

Marathi literature has proved its strength

It is a matter of great pride to be selected for the Brooklyn Film Festival. The hard work done by Marathi artists is appreciated. Most importantly, it proves the strength of Marathi literature. If strong Marathi stories and novels are converted into movies, it is noticed globally, said Makarand Anaspure, director-actor.
