Aurangabad, Nov 28:

To protest against alleged misbehaving by senior checking staff against the lady conductors, the staff of Smart City buses, including lady conductors, staged demonstrations in front of the Smart City office, near Aam Khas Maidan, today evening. The office-bearers of Shiv Sena Mahila Aghadi (SSMA) questioned the Smart City officers in this regard.

The city bus service resumed from November 5. However, it is alleged that the staff visiting for ticket checking misbehaves with lady conductors in the buses. On receiving the complaint, SSMA under the guidance of Marathwada''s contact chief MLC Dr Manisha Kayande, took out the agitation. The office-bearers Kala Ozha, Sunita Aulwar, Sunita Dev, Anjali Madhavkar and others urged the Head of the Smart City bus, Prashant Bhusare, to take urgent action against the ticket checking staff for misbehaving with the lady conductors.

Bhusari heard their complaint and assured them that such things would not be tolerated at all by the office. He assured them of taking strict action against the checking staff at guilty. Later on, the lady conductors narrated several grievances against the management in front of the media persons. They alleged that the new machine does not show details of cumulative deposits of money. Hence when there is a shortage in the collection, they had to pay the short money from their wages. They further claimed that the male checkers, under the name of checking, open their purses. They also take out the ticket machine hanging around the necks of lady conductors with their hands. The insulting treatment is meted out to us frequently, and they are also threatened of removing from the job etc., they pin-pointed.
