A 36-year-old man who had come to visit his sister died by suicide by jumping into a well on Monday morning in Kannad.

The deceased has been identified as Navnath Sheshrao Kshirsagar (Relgaon, Phulambri Teshil). Navnath Kshirsagar had arrived in Sarola on Saturday to meet his sister. Reportedly struggling with depression, he asked her for a loan. As she did not have money at the time, she requested him to wait for two days. However, between 1 am and 2 am on Sunday night, Navnath jumped into a well in Survey No. 41 of Sarola.

On Monday morning, relatives found his body floating in the water. Upon receiving information, Pishor Police Station officers Vilas Sonawane and Dattatreya Lokhande arrived at the scene and conducted a panchnama. The body was retrieved and sent for postmortem at Nachanvel Primary Health Center. Following the examination, the last rites were conducted in Relgaon. Navnath is survived by his parents, wife, and two daughters. A case has been registered at Pishor Police Station. The reason for his suicide remains unknown.
