Aurangabad, Nov 5:

The Mukundwadi police have arrested two persons for duping a married woman of Rs 1.16 lakh by posing as an old friend and dragging her in a love affair.

The arrested have been identified as Rupesh Dagdu Jadhav (27, Mhada Colony and Ajay Nilakhe. The woman, a resident of Latur had come to her parents in October when she received a call from an unknown number. The person on the phone told her that he is her friend Balaji Sul. Later, both of them started talking regularly on the phone. Meanwhile, he demanded money to her as he was hospitalized. She deposited Rs 2,000 on two occasions through online payment.

Meanwhile, the fake friend proposed to her for marriage as she had frequent quarrels with her husband. He asked her to deposit all the money she had in the account of Ajay Nilakhe, and she did. Later, he told her that he is not her friend Balaji but someone else and threatened her to make all their chatting messages viral. When realized that she was duped she lodged a complaint at the Latur MIDC police station. When Mukundwadi PI, Sudhakar Bavkar got the information, he arrested both the accused and handed over to the Latur police.
