Aurangabad, Feb 7:

The relatives of an accused restricted to arrested him at Krantinagar and later staged demonstrations led by the AIMIM activist Arun Borde in front of police commissionerate on Sunday afternoon. The agitators went away after DCP, Meena Makwana listened to their demands.

On January 29, Farooq Qureshi Shaikh Chand Qureshi and his friends Irfan Baig and Iman Khan were standing talking in front of their house at around 10 pm. At the same time, residents of Krantinagar, Nikhil Borde, Ajay Kharat and Ajay Ravat came there and were smoking. The residents standing there asked them not to smoke there, but Nikhil and Ajay Rawat start beating Iman with the iron rod. Farooq Qureshi tried to intervene, but Ajay Kharat attacked him with a knife. Case was registered at the Vedantnagar police station against nine persons in this regard. Aakash Borde was arrested while the other eight persons are at large.

On Sunday, the police had gone to Krantinagar to arrest Shubham Borde, one of the accused in this case. However, his relatives restricted the police from arresting him and helped Shubham to run away. Meanwhile, Arun Borde arrived there, and the people there told him that the police are taking Shubham without reason. Later, around 100 to 125 people, including women gathered at the police commissionerate in the afternoon. They shouted slogans against the police and demanded suspension of the police officers. The mob submitted a memorandum to the DCP Meena Makwana and went away.
