The model code of conduct for the Marathwada Graduate constituency elections has been imposed from November 2. The election will be held on December 1. Around 3.52 lakh voters will vote in the elections while the drive for voters registrations will continue till November 12, informed divisional commissioner and returning officer Sunil Kendrekar in a press conference here on Monday.

The election programme for the Graduate constituency has been announced. Considering the Corona outburst, some terms and conditions have been imposed for meetings and campaigning. All the political parties will have to follow the guidelines. The guidelines regarding the voting by the Corona patients have not received so far while permission has been sought from the election commission for the counting and polling centres.

Each voter''s oxygen level and temperature will be checked, and the administration will provide gloves before entering the polling centre. They will have to follow social distancing scrupulously. Hence, there will be huge expenditure on employees’ training, increased polling centres, sanitizer and PPE kits. The ballot papers will have to be sanitized before printing. The vehicles for the employees will also have to be increased.

The elections will be held on December 1, for which the model code of conduct has been imposed from November 2 at 5 pm onwards. The election notification will be released on November 5. The candidates can fill the nominations on November 12 and the scrutiny will be done on November 13. The candidates can withdraw the nominations till November 17. The counting will be on December 3. The entire election procedure will have to be completed by December 7.
