The incident of a mother and daughter dying by hanging with the same rope in Tuljapur city came to light on March 25. Initially, the case was registered as an accidental death. However, following a complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s brother, a case has now been filed against her husband and in-laws for abetment to suicide on Saturday.

Sanjay Pawar(Karanje in Solapur district), had been living in Tuljapur for work. On March 25, his wife Ratnamala Pawar and their married daughter Pratiksha Patil were found hanging in their house. After their last rites were performed in Karanje, Tuljapur police initially recorded it as an accidental death based on Sanjay Pawar’s statement.

However, on March 29, Ratnamala’s brother Bharat Khatmode(Kettur), filed a complaint with Tuljapur police. He alleged that Sanjay Pawar (husband), Bhaskar Pawar (father-in-law), Sindhubai Pawar (mother-in-law), and Prabhuramchandra Pawar (brother-in-law) physically and mentally harassed Ratnamala over various disputes. Additionally, he claimed that Pratiksha’s marriage was forcibly arranged against her will, which led to extreme distress. Following the complaint, Tuljapur police have registered a case against all four individuals for abetment to suicide.
