Aurangabad, April 9:

The Maharashtra Secondary Service non-gazetted group-B joint pre-examination was scheduled to be held on Sunday by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). But the state government postponed the exam in view of the spike in corona cases in the state. The district administration had made all preparations for this examination. However, the district administration received a message at 6 pm that the pre-examination was immediately postponed.

Sunil Awatade, joint secretary, MPSC, informed the district administration via e-mail that the non-gazetted group-B joint pre-examination has been postponed. Sensitive confidential materials, covid kits, attendance sheets, stickers and other writing materials should be kept in the custody of the collector office till the revised date of this examination is announced. Meanwhile, the officials and employees of the district administration were preparing for the two-day exam. A total of 19,663 candidates have registered for the exam in Aurangabad and the exam was planned at 60 centres. For this 1,650 employees have been deployed and letters had been sent to them. Planning was done for manpower required for the examination, masks, hand gloves, sanitizer pouches, oximeters, temperature measuring devices as well as vehicles to reach the candidates centre-wise. The district administration had completed the preparation for conducting this examination in 1,200 rooms with 24 students in one room. However, the exams were cancelled on Friday.
