Aurangabad, Dec 12:

*However ST plans to ply AC bus to Ajanta Caves on Friday onwards

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) today had planned operation of an airconditioned bus to world heritage Ajanta Caves. However, it was cancelled due to the non-availability of the tourists.

It so happened that the air-conditioned bus was parked at the platform of Central Bus Stand today at 8 am to transport tourists to Ajanta Caves. The monuments re-opened from today. The bus driver and the conductor tried hard to find out tourists. After one hour, the empty bus moved to Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) office at Railway Station, but here also they could not find a single tourist. Finally, MSRTC cancelled the bus.

MSRTC has planned to operate air-conditioned buses for the convenience of tourists. However, today''s bitter experience is forcing the department to think over its continuation in future.

The divisional controller Arun Siya said, "There was no passenger to board the bus for Ajanta Caves at Central Bus Stand. Later on, the bus was brought to the MTDC office, but here also there was no response. The driver again took the bus back to the Central Bus Stand in the hope of getting any tourist. Lastly, the bus was cancelled for today. Meanwhile, the operation of the excursion bus will resume its journey to Ajanta Caves tomorrow at 8 am."
