Aurangabad, Jan 17:

Many parents in the city still appear reluctant to send their children to attend 5th to 8th classes in the schools. The State Government decided to restart classes from 5th to 8th across the State from January 27.

It may be noted that the State Government permitted to reopened secondary and higher secondary schools (9th to 12th) by following all measures of Novel coronavirus.

The schools reopened. The students' attendance in 10th and 12th classes is 70 per cent to 80 pc while the presence of students in 9th and 11th classes is below 50 pc.

The number of patients has gone down and even vaccination process has started.

Despite this, some parents are not ready to send their children to attend 5th to 8th classes. They feel that students of 9th to 12th classes are senior and can care of themselves compared to students of 5th to 8th while others think that it will do if schools are not reopened.

Meanwhile, district collector can issue instructions for reopening the schools in rural areas while for the city, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation administrator was entitled to take a decision on it.

Education officer (primary) Surajprasad Jaiswal said that the Government had taken the decision of restarted schools (5th to 8th classes), but, has not issued orders yet.

“The preparations will commence after the issuance of orders.

Like earlier, COVID test of teaching and non-teaching staffers, care of sanitisation and social distancing would be taken,” he added. There are 1500 schools in the district with 4,500 teachers.

The class-wise strength of the students is as follows; standard 5th (87,869), 6th (86,207), 7th (85,044) and 8th (79,633).
