PDF fellowship in electronics & IT;colleges urged to submit proposal

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) asked the colleges within its jurisdiction to submit proposals for the Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) under the second phase of the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and Information Technology.

The last date for the submission of the PDF proposal is March 15. The PDF is meant for those who have a proven track record as evident from their research publications and recognitions.

The institutions will be selected for the scheme and they will be allotted PDF seats. The candidates selected for the PDF of the college will get financial support the research.

PDF Guidelines

The scheme supports candidates financially for a period of one year and is provisioned to encourage specialised research in emerging areas.

If the PDF is availing of any other fellowship, he is not eligible to apply.

The eligibility included proposals for allotment of PDF seats are to be submitted by eligible institutions only, a suitable number of seats will be allotted to institutions for further enrollment of PDF fellows on the seats, and the eligible participating institution must ensure that the PDF applicant should have completed PhD within the past 5 years on the last date of submission of application.

--Each of the selected fellows will be entitled to receive a grant of Rs 1.8 lakh per month besides a contingency of Rs 1 lakh for a year.

--The PDF is a full-time assignment. The fellows are not eligible to receive any other fellowship from any Government or Non-Government source during the tenure of the fellowship.
