Aurangabad, Nov 26:

Outraged over the changes in the farm bill and labour law changes, porters and workers on Thursday joined a one-day strike to protest against the central government.

Workers formed a human chain at Vasantrao Naik Chowk, Cidco. Everyone had placards in their hands. Members of the Marathwada Labor Union, Maharashtra Rajya Hamal Mapadi Mahamandal and Swaraj Abhiyan all came together to join the protest. Subhash Lomte, vice-president, Hamal Mapadi Mahamandal, said that the strike is against the government’s anti-national policies taken in the name of reforming the labour and the agriculture sectors. These laws will result in enslaving 95 per cent of farmers and labourers in the near future. With these policies, the government is not taking the country to become atma nirbhar, these steps are actually telling upon the country’s self-reliance. However, many porters did not participate in the strike. As a result, transactions in Mondha and Jadhavwadi were running smoothly.
